It’s officially gift giving season and we’re celebrating with Louise Roe - author of Front Roe. Join us as we chat Sunday indulgences, unforgettable career moments, and all things holiday. This down-to-earth beauty is no stranger to “front row” experiences and is our go-to girl on cultivating personal style and leading a life filled with confidence.
We can always find you?
At the farmers market on Melrose Place, buying flowers, avocados, coffee and a burrito!
You're most likely wearing?
Boyfriend jeans, loafers, and a cashmere sweater. And big shades if I had a few cocktails the night before!
You’re working or resting?
Resting. Although sometimes a bit of both.
You’re sipping coffee or tea?
Favorite Sunday indulgence?
Pinkberry at the movies. Sunday tradition.
ON PERSONAL STYLE…
Most prominent fashion memory?
Interviewing Tom Ford on camera. He asked me to take off my heels because I was taller than him. But then he told me he liked my style, which made my day!
In a sentence, style in LA versus style in London?
Color, skin and heels, versus black, leather and sneakers.
Favorite “front row” moment?
Seeing Prince perform as a surprise at Matthew Williamson's show a few years back. It was unbelievable. He sat in the front row and started singing. Nobody had noticed him.
Your style could be described in one word as?
Your #1 fashion rule is?
Less is more!
DURING YOUR CAREER…
Thing you never dreamed you would accomplish?
Hosting a show in America and having a billboard on Sunset Boulevard!
Best piece of advice ever received?
'Never expect anything', imparted from my Grandpa.
Favorite part of writing "Front Roe"?
The feedback from women who I think the book helped feel more confident. That made it real.
Once thinking I was interviewing Roberto Cavalli at the Cannes Film Festival, and it was Formula One boss Flavio Briatore. We filmed the whole thing before I realized.
Favorite place you’ve traveled?
WITH THE HOLIDAYS QUICKLY APPROACHING…
Holiday parties or holiday movies?
Movies! I'm a hermit at Christmas.
How do you and your husband plan to celebrate the season?
We'll be in England with our families, relaxing.
Favorite pairing with a Joie dress to ring in the New Year?
Red lipstick, old school glam.
Any exciting plans/projects you can share in 2017?
Yes! I'll be hosting the Golden Globes and the Oscars for Access Hollywood, and I'm about to start writing my new book.
Go-to fashionable holiday gift?
You can't go wrong with a beautiful candle. Scent in a cozy living room really sets the perfect atmosphere. I also love giving presents like clutch bags, they suit everybody and they don't have to be the right size!
