I live in Brooklyn in Carroll Gardens and love it there, so this is tough – but I work in Soho and that’s a pretty good place to shop for anything and everything and has fantastic restaurants. Love the cast iron architecture, too.
Listening to NPR or ’60s girl groups. Reading the Sunday Styles, New York and The New Yorker and catching up over on The Awl and the Hairpin.

Comfy! Jeans and a cashmere sweater or a button down and ballet flats.
Home to DC. Or my parents’ place on the coast of Maine–that’s the ultimate city escape.

Charlotte Gainsbourg and her mom Jane Birkin. Jean Seberg.
Museum! My roommate works at the Met–but that would be at the top of my list anyway. I also like the Brooklyn Museum–it feels more local and like a community there.
Wow, that’s a tough question. When I moved into my most recent apartment my bed wouldn’t fit up the stairs so I pleaded with (and paid) some other movers working on another apartment to help me and they got it through my window using nothing but duct tape. I felt scrappy and accomplished!
Ideally it would be dim sum at Golden Unicorn and then a stroll through Chinatown to Soho, or brunch at Prime Meats in Carroll Gardens and a browse through Bird, or just some really good chewy bagels from Court Street bagels in Cobble Hill or Absolute bagels in Morningside Heights.

Sleeping in/staying in bed reading until it’s way too late. Those bagels I mentioned in the above question…
I’m obsessed with this sweater. The color is awesome, it’s beach-y and casual and not trying too hard–but sexy, too.
