• TOMAS SARACENO, "CLOUD CITY" 

Trained as an architect, Tomas Saraceno has conceptualized some pretty incredible installations in the past that encompass themes challenging our traditional ideas about space, proportion and gravity. His latest installation opening on the Met's roof garden tomorrow is part of a 10-year-long ongoing series and will invite visitors to interact with his creations, or as Saraceno described them to the New York Times, "an international space station." What’s your favorite neighborhood in Manhattan?

I live in Brooklyn in Carroll Gardens and love it there, so this is tough – but I work in Soho and that’s a pretty good place to shop for anything and everything and has fantastic restaurants. Love the cast iron architecture, too.

Listening to NPR or ’60s girl groups. Reading the Sunday Styles, New York and The New Yorker and catching up over on The Awl and the Hairpin.

Home to DC. Or my parents’ place on the coast of Maine–that’s the ultimate city escape.
