{The Concept}
The store concept encompasses the mood and personality of JOIE, combining a mix of modern and unique aesthetic with a streak of California casual. With interiors by Ryan Korban, the Madison Avenue flagship, with all of its unique embellishments, is reminiscent of a Parisian apartment – polished and refined in its classic décor yet modern in its approach. The décor, in direct harmony with the collection, is a savant mix of modernity and old world finds. Inspired by the natural California sunlight, the Joie boutique is an organic blend of California ease and Parisian charm. “The furniture is all an extension of the characteristics that make up the brand. Mixing materials like stone, plaster, Lucite, aluminum, leather and wood allows the space to feel not only like California and Paris, but is able to bring out the organic side of both places" says Korban. Weathered French architectural elements such as classic molding and herringbone floors mixed with easy fabrics, sun filled rooms and a touch of retro West Coast makes it unique to anything else – a high end, residential shopping experience in a sophisticated yet playful environment.
